Regarding to lots of hard work on Graded Unit project plus personal/family reason there is huge gap between last and present post. I truly and firmly regret it has happened and honestly apologise honourable readers (supposing there are any at all).
Now, after meagre explaining myself I can go back to work. I attach few examples of my work on character development. Enjoy!

Page layout
Illustration itself has an undisputed place in children's book - no doubts about it. But each page of the book has to have a layout which leads viewer's eyes from one point to another. It means that the major elements of an illustration as well as a text on the page have to be in a proper place to create great composition in overall. There is few rules and tricks that can help to decide where to place the objects to drag the viewer attention the most.
RULE OF THIRDS
GOLDEN RATIO
TRIANGLE RULE
Page layout is the part of graphic design that deals in the arrangement and style treatment of elements (content) on a page. Whereas pagination alone can be a simple process (and thus today is mostlyautomated), page layout is a higher-level concept involving intelligence, sentience, and creativity.

Quotes
To get an idea what children think about love, friendship and other values of our world I reviewed some of my friends' children (about 4-7 years old). I also made some research on internet to have a bit more quotes to choose from.
Below I present the result of my enjoyable work:
Below I present the result of my enjoyable work:
LOVE
I know my big sister loves my, because every time I steal a cookie from her lunch box, she's never angry with me.
Love is what makes you smile when you are tired.
Love is when mummy gives daddy the best piece of chicken.
Although my heart is still so small. love makes it big enough to hold there all my loved ones.
Love is when I wash up a platte for my grandma, when she's too old to do it by herself.
FRIENDSHIP
When you are sick, friends can sometimes be a better medicine than the kind the doctor gives you.
Only your real friends will tell you when your face is dirty.
Friend is like my night light in the dark room.
Friend makes me smile all over my face.
You know someone is your friend, if they give you more than half of their candy bar.
SHARING

SHARING
Sharing your favourite toys means sharing part of your world with someone.
Getting married means sharing your toys.
When I share my toys I always get a smile back.
LONGING
Longing is very long, but then someone is found and there is no longing any more.
Longing is when you can't wait to hug someone.
GROWN UPS
Adults life is very hard. They have to work and there is always someone who sweats.
I watch my mum making a sandwich, to know how to make one when she's already gone.
Old person is wrinkly and walks like a duck, but this kind of duck is to be loved too.
The best place to be when you're sad is in your grandma's lap.
TOYS
You can travel inside a book.
You are never too old for a teddy bear.
One birthday is worth 10 normal days.
A child is a fun expert (specialist).
OTHERS
An optimist is someone who expects all the crayons to be in the box.
Don't burn your bridges, because there might be crocodiles in the river.
If you're feeling blue, try to paint yourself a different colour.

Illustration Analysis
Here I present few examples of illustration I analysed in terms of layout, colour, mood, typography and dominant shapes. I tried to understand how to arrange focal points on the page, where is the best space for text to be placed, how colours can affect the viewer etc.
I also made quick sketches of own ideas applying some of those illustration principles.
As a next step I will study layouts and perspective patterns illustrators mostly use in their own works, to then move to process of creating my book's characters.

Children Books Illustrations
I've made research on the internet and picked few books for children I especially liked. Some of them drag my attention because of colours of the illustrations, others with page layouts but most of all I looked at the technique those illustration are made in.
As I said in the previous post I'm looking for the idea of creating the image with paint and brush first of all, then - worked out in the computer. I really want to try this technique and that's why I looked on illustrations which look or just make an impression like made in the traditional way - I mean hand made.
Here are some examples of those I liked the best:

My Very First and Very Late Post
Hi All,
On this blog I'm going to present a progress of my hard work on one of my College projects.
From the unit brief options I've picked Writing Brief, which says in general to "write own poetry (...) and illustrate it...". I decided to write and illustrate a book for young children, as this idea was always sitting somewhere in my mind's nooks.
The book is about how children see and understand particular qualities of the human nature and live in general. I want to present in children's words how do they understand the world around them.
To achieve this goal I will review some children I know (work is actually in progress), make some research on internet as well and then, after I gather all information, I will start to illustrate those children's thoughts.
Obviously I already have some ideas about the style of the book. Illustrations are going to be quite simple and easy just like drawings of young children are. I will go first for traditional option - paint and brush, to move then to the digital path. I will use computer software to touch up and improve images for the book.
The final book is going to have 18 to 20 pages and will be available on-line on the Blurb page (what will also make it available to buy in paper version).
P.S. I'm not the best in writing my own thoughts (especially in English). That's why I'm not going to be too formal in here and time to time I will let myself to be not completely serious as well. So please, Dear Viewer, be lenient for humble author of this blog. Enjoy!
